How do I treat my sunburnt child

You can find below several tips to follow if your child was sunburned:

  1. Let him take a cool bath or use cold compresses on the affected area
  2. Give your child an analgesic like acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain and fever if available
  3. Use a topical moisturizer on the affected area such as aloe vera gel or a topical pain reliever
  4. If he has blisters or bubbles, don't break them open and ask your kid not to touch them in order to avoid any possible infection
  5. Keep your child in a cool area out of the sun
  6. Let your child drink extra fluids for several days to prevent dehydration
  7. Call your doctor in case of blisters available or symptoms of heat stress (fever, vomiting, faint, dehydration)
