How can angry parents affect a child’s growth?
  1. Use of corporal punishment, expressing disappointment and yelling makes children more aggressive physically and verbally and scares them making them feel insecure. (1)
  2. Yelling that comes with insults can be qualified as emotional abuse. It’s been shown to have long-term effects like anxiety, low self-esteem and increased aggression. (2)
  3. Children of angry parents are less empathetic and have poor overall adjustment. (3)
  4. They are more susceptible to bullying since their understanding of healthy boundaries and self-respect are skewed. (3)
