Preventing and handling sports injuries

Below are several tips to prevent sports injuries in our kids:

  1. Use the appropriate equipment with the right size along with the safety gear depending on the time of activity (helmets, shoes…). The protective equipment should be approved by the organizations that oversee the sports.
  2. Play on safe surfaces, always check that the playing field is safe depending on the type of sports they will do (wooden surface and not concrete for basketball). Check if it is consistent and safe with no holes or sharp material.
  3. Always have a qualified adult supervising the activity our kids are involved in (coach trained in first aid and CPR).
  4. Urge your kids to be prepared before starting any sport (from knowing the rules to stretching and practicing).
