When should you worry about a bug bite?

While the majority of insect bites are mild, some can cause reactions of varying degrees of severity. People with allergies should be particularly vigilant.

Allergy to mosquito bites: A mosquito bite causes local irritation that results in a small red itchy pimple. A few minutes after the bite, the area may harden and show redness. The bite will heal by itself in a few days later. An allergy to mosquito bites is when a mosquito bite causes a large pimple with a local rash; in some cases, the bite can cause the entire limb (leg or arm) to swell and may be accompanied by vomiting and fatigue. Mosquito bites can cause anaphylactic reactions (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, giant hives...) but this is rare: this shock is more common in bee stings. 1

You should therefore be concerned about stings when they show general signs of an allergic reaction (malaise, trembling, itching, swelling of the lip or tongue, difficulty breathing, feeling cold, dizziness, nausea) 1

In the presence of one or more symptoms, an emergency consultation or even hospitalization is required.

To stop the allergic reaction, the solution must consist of a rapid injection of adrenaline.
