The Role of vitamin C and where to find it

Vitamin C or (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin. It dissolves in water and is delivered to body’s tissues but not well stored. Therefore, it must be taken daily through food or supplements.1

Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant that neutralizes harmful free radicals, it helps in making several hormones & chemical messengers used in the brain and nerves needed to make collagen, and it plays a role in controlling infections and healing wounds. 1

Vitamin C is found in: Citrus (oranges, kiwi, lemon, grapefruit), bell peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower), white potatoes. 1
