Which factor affects growth negatively? What can perturb growth?

First, hormonal imbalance, such as thyroid disease or lack of growth hormone. 1
Second, obesity, food is necessary and its deficiency leads to poor growth, but obesity leads to early puberty, which will negatively affect the final height of the child. 2
Third, lack of sleep, as growth hormone will be secreted during sleep. 3

Fourth, sports is necessary for growth, but intense sports such as preparation for World Championships will adversely affect the length of the bones, in this case, the child must be assisted by a specialized medical team. 4

Fifth, chronic diseases, especially those that require continuous use of cortisone. 1
