What is the role of Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is an important nutrient that works with calcium & phosphorus to help build bones and keep them strong. A vitamin D deficiency can lead to rickets, a bone-softening disease.

Vitamin D deficiency also increases the risk of bone fractures in older children & teens.1

New data suggests that vitamin D has a potential role in maintaining innate immunity & in reducing the risk for diabetes and cancer. 2
