My child is asthmatic. Is there any link between low vit D levels and asthma exacerbations?

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease. Vitamin D is of particular interest in asthma due to its immunomodulatory effects. Several researches have reported positive associations between vitamin D and asthma. Although most of the evidence regarding vitamin D is from observational studies, and the role of vitamin D in asthma is not yet clear, clinical trials showed protective influence of vitamin D supplementation among asthmatic patients. Hence, keeping good levels of vitamin D will have protective effects and an immune boosting role.
