What is the appropriate water intake?

There are really only two things that kids should be drinking: milk and water. 1

The great thing about water is that it’s a zero-calorie quencher that helps muscles and the brain stay hydrated. 2

How much kids need each day depends on their age, if they’re a boy or girl, the weather, and how active they are. 3

As a general rule, on regular condition and normal days here’s how much water kids should drink every day:

  1. Toddlers: 2 to 4 cups
  2. 4-8 years: 5 cups 4

The number of cups can increase depending on the weather temperature, if the child is playing outdoor, exercising and doing some sports.
