What are the ‘’Do’s’’ and “Don’ts” of protecting your child from intoxication?
  1. Do not place harmful substances near children, they love to imitate adults. The aerosol can be very similar to the hair spray they saw their mother using. Keep harmful materials in a high place and out of children’s reach.
  2. Do not use empty water bottles to store toxic liquids such as kerosene, terpene, pesticides, etc., the child may drink from them. Toxins should be kept in their original containers or in bottles where the brand name is clearly written on them and out of children’s reach.
  3. Keep medicine away from children’s reach and in a locked place. Do not place medicine in containers that are easy to open for children, they may assume that these colored tablets are candy.
  4. Do not place medicine near the food or while eating, as children may swallow them unintentionally.
  5. Do not place plant pots within reach of children, they may eat the leaves or the soil.
  6. Do not use chemical pesticides (mites for example) in a reckless way, swallowing it leads to child poisoning. 1,2,3
